Born and raised in the Denver area, I went to New College in Florida. After graduating in 1981, I was a mental health worker for children and adults for several years.
I spent six years earning my M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in the Child Clinical Psychology program at the University of Denver, with an internship at Stanford University. Additional postdoctoral training was done at the Developmental Neuropsychology Lab, also at DU.
I have been licensed in Colorado as a psychologist since 1995 and began my private practice in 1997.
